The DJI Mavic 3 drone was the first to receive C1 certification, in line with the new EU regulations on unmanned aerial vehicles. Thanks to the certificate, pilots will have easier access to obtain permission to pilot the device. New Mavic 3 buyers – and existing owners with an update – will be able to fly the drone in the A1 Open category. Without the certificate, the category required for the DJI unmanned aerial vehicle would be A2, which requires a much more complicated process to obtain the category.
Obtaining the certificate was possible thanks to the introduction of a number of changes in the software, improving the Mavic 3’s safety parameters. The C1 certificate was awarded by TÜV Rheinland, a professional and widely recognized certification body.
