Ryan Grieves and Lexie Janson were announced as ambassadors for U.S. Drone Soccer at this year’s CES during the Women and Drones Global Awards.

Lexie Janson is a VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) pilot, or BSP with vertical take-off and vertical landing capability, for Jetson and Airspeeder. Ryan Grieves, on the other hand, is an experienced drone racing pilot and has competed in international competitions such as the Drone Champions League and The World Games 2022, where she competed for Team USA.

As experienced pilots, both women are role models for all amateurs interested in drone racing. Lexie and Ryan are enthusiastic about sharing their passion, knowledge and experience with others.

“It’s great to have these women as role models. It’s important that young girls can see a future for themselves related to drone sports, aviation and aerospace. They are both passionate about educating and training others and the importance of spreading STEM [footnote: acronym: science, technology, engineering, mathematics] to students around the world.” – says Dr. Renee Welch, Director of Engagement for U.S.

U.S. Drone Soccer promotes the accessibility of careers in aviation through student programmes, training and competitions. The organisation works closely with educational institutions to encourage students’ interest in drone technology.
