The city of Białystok has signed a contract for the supply of 20 Chinese Yutong electric buses with charging infrastructure. The entire transaction amounts to PLN 57 million.
-The company turned out to be the best in the tender procedure. There were no appeals against its results, and the tender itself was carefully checked by the public procurement office, said the vice-president of Białystok, Zbigniew Nikitorowicz.
Deliveries are expected to start next year and will include 20 new single-unit low-floor electric buses. Their range is 350-400 km. In addition to buses, the contract includes the delivery, assembly and commissioning of 20 depot charging stations and 3 workshop charging stations.
– Our goal is efficient and modern public transport. The purchase of zero-emission buses is an investment in cleaner air and an adequate quality of life for residents. This is the next stage of investments carried out by the city of Białystok for several years, including road investments, creating an efficient system of public transport and modernizing the city’s rolling stock – continued Zbigniew Nikitorowicz.
The purchase of buses was part of the project “Intermodal communication node in Białystok (transfer center with corridors of public collective transport)”. It is co-financed by the European Union and aims to develop modern urban transport in Białystok.
