26 JANUARY WILL SEE THE ENTRY INTO FORCE OF THE U-SPACE REGULATIONS

The EU Commission issued three implementing regulations on 22 April 2021:

Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/664 of 22 April 2021 on the regulatory framework for U-space;
Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/665 of 22 April 2021 amending Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/373 as regards requirements for air traffic management/air navigation service providers and other air traffic management network functions in U-space designated in controlled airspace;
Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/666 of 22 April 2021 amending Regulation (EU) No 923/2012 as regards requirements for manned aircraft operating in U-space.
All indicated acts were published in the Official Journal of the EU on 23 April 2021 and will enter into force on 26 January 2023.

U-Space is an automated drone traffic control system, the solution is to ensure the safe and efficient use of autonomous drones in particular for commercial purposes.

The state-funded project was accepted for funding in the context of a competition launched by the Minister of Education and Science on 8 March 2021 as part of the “Social Responsibility of Science” programme.

Value of aid: PLN 235,087,00. Total cost of the project: PLN 265.087,00

The aim of the project is to promote scientific research in the field of the law of new technologies by disseminating knowledge of the legislation on unmanned aerial vehicles – drones – in particular their operation, design, the obligations of operators and pilots, the obligations of public actors in the field of electromobility and the support mechanisms for users.
